'I would keep the current rent control in place at De Anza and pass a sweeping rent control for all renters. \n\nThe legal fees of the De Anza fiasco (i.e. rent control that was poorly managed by the City) would be paid for by switching the City’s priorities on funding. These changes would also help maintain a number of other programs that have been cut or eliminated. \n\nWelfare for the rich would be ended. Money would not be paid out prevent competition with Neal’s “Book Shop Santa Cruz� as has been done. The CVC would be eliminated and the tourist industry directed to pay for their own advertising if they want it.
